Paintings for Parkinson's 2016 - Our Story

Updated from April 2014 post... December 2013 I was going to call this “my story,” but it’s really not about me. It’s about us . It’s about me and my husband, Steve, and our life together. Our story begins on January 9, 2004…our first date. At age 30, while young in the grand scheme of things, I was nearly considered for spinsterhood here in Utah, where marriage between ages 18-25 is very common. When you pass that mid-twenties mark, you quickly find yourself in lonesome territory, where most of the men you meet in your age range are already married with kids. By 27 years old, it feels like your odds of finding a date, let alone husband, are almost nonexistent. By 30, you’d better resign yourself to the single life and make your peace with it! Random topics today? Perhaps.  It is Monday. First day of a super busy week for me. Day six of my personal "No McDonald's for breakfast" challenge. You can follow my daily challenge at my Instagram account or @JenniferLoveArt on Twitter if you want! Or follow JenniferLoveArtwork on your Instagram app (since that's really what Instagram wants...no websites for those folks!)  My challenge is the daily count-up (how many days can I go?) of replacing my usual McDonald's breakfast meal with oatmeal or Cream of Wheat. I am trying to cut out the extra calories, time, and money that my McD breakfast cravings have created in my life in the past few years. Small steps towards getting healthier...and long life = more time for me to create art!  #savingmoney #eatinghealthierbreakfast #21daystochangeahabit Instant oatmeal instead of Sausage/Egg McMuffin! Here in Utah, we moved our clocks forward one hour at 2:00am on Sunday morning in observance of Day

Hello friends! It's a new year and a new commitment from me to be more consistent with my blog posts as well as my newsletter. I thank you for continuing to follow my crazy rantings, ravings, and art thoughts. I won't go into specifics, but I will say that the past few months have been filled with family business that took a lot of time and attention from us. Unfortunately, my art creating, blogging, social media, and newsletters had to take a back seat to my family priorities. But, as ever, I appreciate the support of my loving family and friends, and appreciate that my collectors and readers are still out there! So...with the new year in mind, I thought I would start my blog out with a reminder that Paintings 4 Parkinson's starts on the 1st of each month and ends on the 8th. (If you want to know more about Paintings for Parkinson's, click here to read Our Story and also to details for artists who might want to be involved).  We have just two more days left on thi
