Hello, art enthusiasts and nature lovers! 🌼 Have you ever closely observed a butterfly flitting between flowers? If you haven’t, you’re in for a treat! Today, I’m excited to share one of my watercolor paintings that captures the vibrant dance of a majestic monarch butterfly amidst a colorful floral landscape. The Inspiration Behind the Canvas Nature is a never-ending source of inspiration. While looking out my kitchen window to my Buddleia bushes, I spotted this lovely lady and had to rush out to grab a few pics on my phone camera. Wings spread wide, travelling from flower to flower as if it was showcasing a grand performance just for me, it's so hard to capture these beauties in flight, so I took some pics while she was resting on the flower.  The result? Click here for purchase info about Little Red The Colorful Magical Flight When I first envisioned this piece, I wanted to channel the vibrant, frenetic energy of a hummingbird—the ultimate acrobat of the avian world! With its iridescent feathers, this tiny creature moves with a grace that barely seems possible. Using bold and lively hues, I layered a deep blue background around brilliant reds and oranges, defining my image by painting the negative space around it, and representing the contrast between the lively world of the bird and the calmness of the night sky.
